06 seat install questions
I think I have found a good deal on a set of dark charcoal seats for my truck, but I have two questions.
-I haven't been able to get a confirmation as to whether these seats (99-06) can be installed in a truck with a stock location gas tank (in cab)....seems like everyone who has posted, has a relocated tank, -The seats do not come with the 'jump seat' as they came out of a truck with a console. I plan on putting the jump seat in, but until I can find one, I would like to put these seats in my truck, does the jump seat mount to the outside bolts of the bucket seats, or does it have its own set of holes/bolts? If it has its own bolts, can someone give me an idea of what the required spacing is between the seats? Thanks! I can't wait to be done with my stock bench......old seat + stock 3/4t springs = kidney pain.....this truck is possibly looking at a 800 mile trip in the very near future, and I would like to have these seats in it for that trip!

Re: 06 seat install questions
Where I have mine positioned worked with the fuel tank BUT the console would have to stay down- no room to flip it up. You can place the seats & jumper further forward, but you will have to fab up raised mounts for the front bolts- as you can see in the pic the mounting points would be up off the floor ahead of the raised floor support if you did. And yes, the jumper bolts down with each seats inner bolts.

Re: 06 seat install questions
thanks Jeffspower, that was exactly what I needed to know.....Are you pleased with the fit and comfort of the seats? I have seen the headrest fill up a bit of the back window, does that create a problem for you at all? (or anyone else who has installed these seats?)
Hmmm.....maybe I will skip the jump seat for now, and buy an 80's console to put there (the jump seats are $$$$ online, maybe I can find one in a pick-n-pull in the summer).

Re: 06 seat install questions
I'm 6' 250lbs, and I tried the OE bench, '91 bench, '88 shorty buckets... these are the most comfortable to me. NONE give me the legroom I really want, but that is mostly the small cabs problem, not the seats. You might lose a tad of legroom with these, but that is made up for in comfort IMO. Since the cab is shorter on these old trucks compared to '99-up, the headrest does fill the back window pretty good. But it doesn't bother me. Any seat with a headrest takes some getting used to in these trucks. These seats are wide, deep & tall. They don't leave your *ss hanging off the edge, or your shoulders unsupported. Some likey, some dislkey

Re: 06 seat install questions
Thought I'd mention... I have a nice early '80s red Blazer console. $25+ shipping if interested.

Re: 06 seat install questions
Tint the back window a dark tint and you will never see the head rests plus they will not fade out that way too.

Re: 06 seat install questions
The jump seat does bolt down into the inside seat track holes on each side so you will want to measure a jump seat to get the spacing right for when you do put the jump seat in. I have an extra set out in the barn that I could try and measure if I can get to them unless someone else has a set installed that they could measure for you.
