Exhaust though the cross member
I want to lower my 69' Step Side and I'm thinking about running my exhaust though the T/A cross member. Probably going to use a 4 inch circle bit. After I make the hole, should I reinforce the hole by welding a pipe piece in the hole? If the exhaust pipe runs through this, will there be rattling, if any. If so, how can this fixed?
Anyone ever seen this done? Does anyone have any pictures? Thanks

Re: Exhaust though the cross member
NICE!!! I was thinking about coming out in front of the rear wheels. Maybe, bend after the hole - run side the trailing arms.
Thanks

Re: Exhaust though the cross member
I placed a 4" pipe in the opening just for reinforcement. I really don't know if you need though.

With trailing arms I would recommend reinforcing them. With leaf springs it might not be so critical. LockDoc

Re: Exhaust though the cross member
Thanks everyone. Nice work. I'm gonna do a 4 inch hole and reinforce it just to be safe.
