Re: Drip Rails / Rain Rails

Pictures would help. Have you considered just shaving them? Mine were good, but I wanted to have a smooth look, so we cut em off.

Any way, I think I have seen em on Brother's Trucks web site.

Re: Drip Rails / Rain Rails

well the guy do my bodywork is doing it as a favor. So I dont want to make a ton of extra work on him. I have also seen a couple that have been shaved. I dont want to be disappointed with the outcome. Do you have any pics of ones that have been shaved?

Re: Drip Rails / Rain Rails

I shaved mine because they were not worth fixing, they were so badly rusted! I'll see if I can get a better close up later. I have gotten alot of complements on how it looks. The cabs design lends itself to the shaved look, almost like it was meant to be that way!

Short of pieces being custom made, I don't believe anyone makes replacement pieces. That's why I ended up shaving mine.

I'm sure there are others but LMC sells them for the sides of the cab. I have a set you can have if you pay the shipping. PM me.

Re: Drip Rails / Rain Rails

Richard8971, have you had any issues with rain coming into the cab if you get caught in a storm? I've heard there could be issues with water running into the cab, so I've decided to stay away from removing the drip rails.... any feedback?

I would recommend replacing your door seals if you are going to shave them. Before I had put my new weatherstripping in (it had none), it did leak inside. Just make sure your doors are adjusted correctly and you shouldn't have too many problems. Sometimes being a little different means accepting a little inconvenience now and then.

I saw that, but my front one was rusted out as well. I really didn't have a choice.

Re: Drip Rails / Rain Rails

Check out my build thread for multiple pics of the shave. Link in my sig. As far as more work, it may be easier to shave them rather than line up and replace them. But do what you like and what works for you. That is what it is all about. Good luck.
