Re: what should i do

looks like a cherry little truck, id keep it the way it is..

but if you MUST do something, I'd say pull that 6 cyl out and give it some pep.

Ive always been a fan of being different, and i always wanted a fast 6 cyl ( i think they sound really cool when they turning at like 6500 rom )

Id say lower is, but it looks as though you do some towing, so you dont want to sacrifice and spring travel.

i think a 6cyl sleeper would do the truck

Re: what should i do

If you want to be different, a blown six with nitrous would be sweet. But a big block would look pretty sick in there too!

Re: what should i do

Nate, that poor thing is nearly a basket case. Sign the title over to me and I'll take it off your hands -- maybe I'll toss in a few bucks 'cause you seem like a nice young feller... I'll be right over to pick it up.

Seriously, that's a sweet truck and the six is somewhat unique anymore. I wonder if a five-speed manual box would bolt up to it? Hmmmm......

Re: what should i do

First things first. You have a honey of a truck there- real good bones to work with. Not a huge fan of red, but in your case, it works.

If this were in my garage the first thing I'd do is set the altitude a tad closer to terra-firma with a mild 2.5 / 4 inch drop kit (discs in front of course).
Then I'd probably toss on some 17" Coddington Smoothie II's w/ lo-pro BFG's.
After that I'd heat up that 6-banger with 3 side-draft webers, some nitrous, and a nice set of clifford twice-pipes.
Hook up a TKO or NV3500 five-speed tranny and a 3.73 posi and you'll have yourself a killer combo in my book.

Re: what should i do

Good looking truck. I'd leave it like it is because it's different....

The last show I went to all of the old classics looked the same under the hood. All v-8's with chrome all over. Nice to look at though.

I'd lower it to give it a nice rake look and ride better, but not slammed.

My age is showing...

Beautiful truck - I love the 6 bangers. I say just enjoy it. If you gotta monkey with something, buy something else and fix it up. You could probably could use something that would pull that boat a little better.

SCM-2926 Supercharger manifold www.inliners.org/larrowe/index.html If you do not have it already get the Leo Santucci inline 6 power manual great help in hot rodding these motors. If I found a complete rebuilt 6 cyl set-up w/ a/c and p/s I would trade my rebuilt 355 shortblock and good running 350 engine for it .
