HELP! My Throttle Cable Pops Out!
My throttle cable doesn't want to stay in the bracket attached to the 4bl carb. It kind of slides out. Am I missing a keeper or something?

Re: HELP! My Throttle Cable Pops Out!
If you're running an Edelbrock style carb, you need a "throttle rod stud". The one I bought is an Edelbrock piece. I bought it off of a recommendation here. I put it on when I installed the carb and except for when I attached the aftermarket cruise control, I haven't touched it.
I hope this helps.

One thing to consider. If you look in the picture I posted, the gold colored bracket I used for my th350 kick-down cable was also an Edelbrock piece. I had a straight stick previously and with the throttle rod, I had no kickdown/throttle cable piece. If your bracket is bad you maybe could try that piece. However I'm guessing the plastic housing that clicks into the bracket is buggered up. In which case you'll need a new cable.

Dan, I was having the same problem with my 72 big block truck too!! I just put a wire tie on it for now, not sure how to fix it correctly yet.
