Front Fender Seal Set

Has anyone installed this kit from LMC? If so or not do you need the stock metal or is it just a bolt in now?

Re: Front Fender Seal Set

Excuse my ignorance, but what is this metal brackets that I hear about for the inner seals? Is this just for a certain truck? I don't recall mine having them.

Thanks...

Re: Front Fender Seal Set

I don't think the pickup trucks had them, or so I've been told by a vendor in my area. He says they're for Suburbans. I reckon it's up to you to decide if you want them, or need them.

Re: Front Fender Seal Set

THE SUBURBAN THING IS NOT TRUE. tHEY CAME STANDARD ON THE HIGHER END TRUCKS SO ALL DO NOT HAVE THEM SUB, BLAZER,P/U. EXPECT TO SEE THE ON CHEYENNE AND SUPER MODELS. AS FAR AS I KNOW THEY WERE PART OF THE CUSTOM COMFORT AND CONVIENCE ITEM PACKAGE. THEY STAPLE TO THE METAL BRACKETS AS THE ORIGINALS DID. MORE CAME WITHOUT THEM THAN CAME WITH THEM.

Re: Front Fender Seal Set

They are there to cut the air down that comes from engine compartment/ splash material through the gap in the front fender and inner fender. They also act as a type of vapor barrier of sorts much like later models have between the cowl and the fender. You can add them to any truck but you have to find the brackets. It is like the heat shield on a big block truck, they can help you determine if a seller has a real cheyenne or super or it is a made truck. Most people either don't know about or don't get this odd pieces.

Re: Front Fender Seal Set

Here are some pictures, the bracket is on the cab not the fender. Mine is attached with hex head screws. Truck is a Super Cheyenne k20.

Looks to just keep dirt and noise out?
