under bed fuel tank filler pics! Lets C em

Id like to see some of your ideas for filling the under bed mounted tanks. Im considering doing this and was wanting to see some cool pics. I was thinking going through the rear stake pocket.

Re: under bed fuel tank filler pics! Lets C em

one thing that you have to be aware of is the angle of the neck,i had to cut out the whole center of my filler neck so that the gas hose didnt bind when filling, otherwise it takes a freakin hour to fill up,since i cut out the center,it works great

Hey Guys,

Were having a similar discussion in another thread right now, talking about pros and cons of the filler neck behind the marker light.

Wibilly, your mod came out nice and clean. Great lob.

just a quick question for those who put the filler in the side marker. can you take the gas cap out of the hole? it looks really tight...

Re: under bed fuel tank filler pics! Lets C em

here's mine in a rough stage, but everything works, and fills pretty fast(well it does once I put a vent tube in!)
I did manage to re-use the stock filler from the cab, and there's just enough space to get your fingers in to get the cap off.

I know that Yank and HuggerCST also have done this to fill their tanks, HuggerCST's came out really well. Between the way he boxed up the filler area,The hinge/Spring mount and the LED taillight makes for a really clean install.

I think HuggerCST and Yank taillight hinges part way up the light, so the bottom of the light folds into the bed. Mine is hinged right at the bottom, and completely folds outward.

I will probably rework mine with a LED once I get the cab fixed up to get the bulb socket and wires outta the way.

They make a cap you do not have to remove to fill.

Mine is not all they way done, but I have a factory 72 Blazer tank, and used a filler and body panel with the filler door from a 88-98 C1500.

You can see more details in the build the of my signature.
