C10 Body Drop
Has anyone out there done a full body drop to their C10. I want to do give my 67 C10 a full drop with air ride suspension and a rear 4 link setup. What kind of rear C notch will I need? Big one (8" notch) or one that bolts up to the frame. Can you body drop a C10 without cutting the box? In the front do I have to scrap the inner fender wells? Any info would help alot.
Thank You JHickson6 |

You can use stock trailing arms w/the bags in custom mounts (instead of factory location) or spend more for the 4-link(which has more adjustability). The c-notch will depend on how much of a body drop you do(a big b.drop won't require as much of a notch). The bedfloor can either be raised or sectioned & the front fenderwells will either need to be tossed or modified extensively. Hope this helps.

Jegs has got 4-links at $146 w/o the rod ends. That's another $60 but it's still pretty cheap.

I'm currently finishing a custom rear 4, or should say 5 link suspension for my C10 shortbed. With airbags and an estmated rear suspension travel of 9-10 inches, a longer rear setup is more desirable to eliminate a sharp degree of rear axle arc. As for a notch, a bolt in kit will not provide enough clearance. I stepped the rear of the frame and continued out the back without ever dropping back down. This will provide the cage for my fuel cell. I am body dropping the truck 3 inches with 20 inch rims in the front and 22 inch rims in back. It will lay rockers when done! I won't be running inner fenders. The hood and fenders will be welded together and tilt forward. I have many photos and will try to get some posted.
