edelbrock manifold
i have an edelbrock 4 barel high rise manifol for FREE.
but was left out in the weather and corroded inside and out. how can i clean it or is it wearth it? can i bead blast it or will it wreck the aluminum. if not will i have to cover up the mating surfaces? |

bead blasting wont hurt the intake,will most deffinatly help it ,

no it wont ,i have bead blasted alot of aluminum intakes,never had a problem,will clean them to a nice aluminum finish.

You could take it to your local machine shop and see if they can hot tank it for you.

Maybe you could use a dremel type tool with the sanding rolls to clean up in the runners and hard to reach areas.

clean it by hand, then try to polish. if that doesnt work throw some paint on it

bead blasting will not hurt the maiting surfaces it will clean up the whole intake for a very nice finsh, but i recomend washing it with a pressure washer after blasting to get the debris out of the runners.

I don't think you can put alum. in a hot tank, but I could be wrong

you can hot tank aluminum...long as it isnt in a acid bath ,but hot tanking that intake wont help the corrosion much at all....bead blasting it would be the best bet
