Subs cut out
I just finished putting in my new one wir alternaor and I hadto just run a line straight to the battery the problem is that when I give the truck the gas the subs cut out and when I let off they come back any answers out there HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like a loose wire. try tracing through your stereo wires. i dought that it has anything to do with the altenator, if there was a problem there you would most likely have other prpbs as well.

believe it or not I found what the problem was my alternator was putting out too much power and when I give it the juice it would trip the overload switch inside of the amplifier. I couldn't run anything that would throw over 50 amps when revved luckily the subs are thumping as good as ever while the battery is charging

my jimmy was doing the same thing, had to replace the voltage regulator.
