I switched from a manual to an auto trans. I took the pivot bracket off a 1968 c-10. I think the bracket off of this 2x4 might be different from a 4x4. my frame does not have the holes I need, do I need to drill 2 holes and get a different bracket? if so does someone have the bracket I need? I can do paypal or whatever you need, Thanx,Philip

You should think about the linkage kit from bowtie overdrives.

I'll try to remember to go look on my 4x Blazer and see what bracket it uses in the morning.

I have that linkage on my 72, bought it direct from Kugel. The 1 drawback is that it does not isolate motor torque from being transmitted to the shifter itself.

Re: Auto tranny linkage help, PLEASE!!!

Your engine must have a lot more torque than mine, 'cuz I have the above (put a 200-4r in it) and have no issues with it.

Re: Auto tranny linkage help, PLEASE!!!

No, not a lot but it is noticeable. You can see the shifter move when under heavy load.

I don't know if this helps but I switched from a manual (3-speed column) to a th350 in my K10 4x4. I bought the tranny, adapter, and t-case out of a 1972 Blazer. While I was showing the guy how to get the tranny off the engine I talked him out of the shift linkage and bracket on the frame. On my truck frame I had to drill two holes for the bracket on the frame. It has worked fine since I installed it in December of 2001.

Re: Auto tranny linkage help, PLEASE!!!

Hey Dads 68 GMC,

Check with either board members teeitup or billsbowtie. Seems one of them had a large assortment of parts in a recent thread and I remember seeing that frame bracket.

Re: Auto tranny linkage help, PLEASE!!!

Your best bet will be to post a WTB thread on the parts board, please don't buy/sell anywhere else.

BTW here's a pic of what's on my Blazer so you'll know what to look for.
