New in TN, need help!
Hey Im new and I need help with finding what I need. Iv got a 70chevyC10 that is realy wierd to me. Looks pretty junky, but frm across the strt goin 40mph lks pretty gd. Runs fine tiny rough. I can't figure whether its half or three quarter ton. I wouldn't kno, this my second vehicle. My dad knos classic chevys but never had this yr truck. Can't find VIN so I cant figure what it orig had. I just wanna fix it up where it looks pretty gd, is solid, runs good so I can sell it or keep it. Right now my big trouble is wheels. It has 3/4ton wheels but what Im havin trbl w/ is the spacings which don't seem to fit ANYTHING else. And what is entailed with changing the belts? idk i hope this place can help

Re: New in TN, need help!
About the best thing youcould do for it is save up and have it soda blasted, usually runs around 800 bucks but it will clean it up good and you don't have to tape up the glass or trim, just drive it in and have it blasted and pay a little more and have them prime it. It would help dramatically.

Quote:
Your vin number is located on the drivers side door jamb. about 4" inches below the door striker. As for the paint, Do you own a air compressor?? If so just start DA'ing the panels down and getting all the old paint off. That would be your cheapest route, but most time consuming. once you get it off put a good primer on it.

Re: New in TN, need help!
I wouldn't really know but I thought the VIN was on the left of the gas tank on the passengers side. It looks like a sticker that got worn off. how hard is it to put in a floor patch panel mine is rusted out. And it looks like some1 might have switched frm standard to auto bcause hole in flr for shifter and steering column=different how can I tell if i cant find VIN?

Re: New in TN, need help!
your vin plate should be a piece of aluminum riveted to the drivers door jamb. I don't think the vin number will tell you anything about what the truck had originally. That would be your built sheet or SPID label. That is supposed to be located on the inside of the glovebox door. But most of these old trucks have had them gone long time ago.
Get some more detailed pics of your truck. Maybe we can tell from pics. Get pics of the floor panel, brakes pedals and steering column.
