Thumbs up More cab swap questions

I've been tearing down the cab on my 72 K20 and have found it surprisingly straightforward. I am planning to swap it out for a nice 67 cab I found, but I would like to double check a few things, and hopefully learn from someone who has done this.
#1. Can I pull the cab off and leave the fenders in place? It looks like it to me.
#2. Is the electrical system the same between the two? The 72 had 1 connector on the instrument panel (which was really cool). I know the fuse panel is in a different spot on the 67 but I'm hoping the connector going to it is the same as the 72. I do not have the 67 cab here yet to compare.
#3. Where have you'all bought the new cab mounts? I doubt this would be a NAPA item.
Thank-you all in advance for all of your advice, past and present.
Colby.

Re: More cab swap questions

Q1 - I guess it is possible, but I think you have a great chance at the cab hanging up on them. It's awkward enough pulling one without worrying about your fenders.

Q2 - wiring is different. For one the way it mounts in the cab is a little different, as well as the interior wiring is a little different for the placement of the switches. Also, if you weren't aware the emergency brake rounting and throttle (cable vs rod) are different.

q3 - I got My cab mounts from GMC Pauls or Tim Christian (I forget which one at the moment)

Re: More cab swap questions

so will the existing 72 harness plug into the 67s fuse panel thru the firewall or am I going to have to completely rewire the interior? This cab is nice but not worth a headache like that. I sure wish I could find a good 72 cab!
