Here is the original window sticker from my old '70 3/4 ton Longhorn.
As for the Camaro, the base price for a '67 2 door hard top was $2466, a 2 door coupe was $2572, a Convertable started off at $2704. These are just base prices. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Bear with me cause it's been years but my dad
bought a new 69 1/2 ton, the only options were the 350/350, and AM radio. Memory is never perfect but I'm thinking he paid like 24-2600. I'm thinking that cause it stuck with me that he got most of his money back when he traded it in 75. the 75 was around double the 69. thats from 30 years ago though so take it with a grain of salt. seems like the 75 or 76 3/4 ton 4/4 went for around 7500 I spent enough time stareing at those stickers, But again that was a long time ago. dave [This message has been edited by dross (edited May 14, 2002).]

My 71 C10 Suburban had a sticker price of $5000 even. It came with a step bumper, 3 rows of seats, AM radio, custome deluxe interior, 350 sb + th350 transmission, lower side moulding. The purchase price of it was $4200 late in the year of 71.
The things I find amazing are the prices of options. A 6cyl was std. A 307 cost you $42 and a 350 would add $44. Why would you buy a 307? I think a 402bb would add $65 but you had to add the th400 for $125 also, but still! What a deal. The expensive items to add were electronics. I think the am radio was about $67 with an AM/FM radio running close to $200 if I remember right. ------------------ 1971 C-10 Suburban 1972 C-10 Suburban 1969 XL Galaxie Fastback 1968 Galaxie 500 Fastback 1974 SCOUT II Montrose, Minnesota

I bought a '72 4X4 new - traded in my Boss 302 for it (I still kick my ass even though I acquired another Boss 302 a couple years later), but it seems to me the list of the 4X4 was less than $5000. I probably have the window sticker in some of my old sh!t somewhere, but wouldn't know where to start looking for it. My 4X4 was a base model. Only had a radio if I remember right. Only kept it two years and traded for a '74. Did that every two years'till '78 which I still have. In addition to others.

haha, that's pretty cheap but remember... inflation pretty much puts the price of a new truck around the same 'cost-wise' of one of those..
haven't things gone up about 3-4 times? that's still cheap back then but most people only made 2 bucks an hour or so.. ------------------ Webmaster: www.GMPerformance.org

Mine's decently well optioned... 2WD, 1/2 ton shortbed fleetside... 350, 3 speed stick, A/C, full moulding / chrome, full gauges, AM radio, 3.73 rear... ------------------ Project 1970 - soon to be seen at http://milhouse.treylis.org:81/

The original bill of sell for my low optioned 70 C-10 is $2,600. For reference, my oldest brother purchased new in 72 a heavily optioned RS Camaro for $4,400 and a year later in 73 got a new Corvette for $6,500.

Those prices do sound cheap now. When I replaced the interior in my '72 I found an old paystub from the previous owner. It was dated for sometime in 1972. Net weekly pay was a whopping $186.00!

My longhorn went out the door of the fremont california plant with a special order price tag of $4800 bucks. The truck is currently worth about $10000.
Just paid on May 1 for a 2002 f250 super crew $37,000. The truck is now worth about $30000. A little difference there. ------------------ jku 70 C30 CST Longhorn 68k10 burb 69 K5 beater 43 willys GPW 40 Chev coupe 67 catalina

You are not comparing apples to apples. First, you are trying to compare a Ford to a Chevy....no, no, no! LOL
In thirty years I will look back and say, "Wow, when I bought that 2001 GMC it only stickerd for $42,800. Look that Duramax diesel option was only $4,000 and the Allison transmission was only $2,000!!" I just hope it is still around then.... ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side. In process of frame off restoration

I hear that the duramax is having problems with warping heads... as far as the prices, the resto packets have everything listed in them, go to www.chevrolet.com and getcha one.

Put things in perspective. I got out of the Army in 1969. My first job paid $375.00 per month gross. In September 1971, I bought a new Plymouth Roadrunner (P.O.S.) for $3200.00 and they allowed me $1200.00 for my 68 Mustang GT (P.O.S.). Times have changed, huh? Bought my first house in 1974 for less than I paid for my land alone in 1994.

I would say most pickups were around $2,500 in '67. My first brand new car was a 1965 Impala, 283 stick. I paid $2,445.00 for it. I was making $320.00 a month back then. In 1976 I bought a Corvette off the showroom floor for an even $8,000.00.

Thank you Tim! I have heard so many people try to start that rumor (not that you are Baradium) and it is not true!! What people (mostly PowerJoke owners) are saying is that the head gaskets are going to fail because the block is steel and the heads are aluminum. As of this date no heads or gaskets have failed according to GM and Isuzu. I am on a boat forum and the PowerlessStroke guys are always trying to say they have a buddy that blew up three heads and got rid of the truck.....blah, blah, blah....
sorry to be off topic... ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side. In process of frame off restoration

The factory tach was a $50.00 option in 1968, according to the original invoice.
