track width
I have swapped out the original front suspension on my '68 and replaced it with the whole setup from a '78, Can anyone tell me how much wider the distance between the wheels is and or how much wider the suspension is from doing this swap? I also swapped in the diff from the '78 (changed the mounts) so I know it won't look funny. Have I gained any track width by doing this. The diff is 11/2" wider, so would the front be that much wider too?
Thanks Tyler

The front end should be the same.
Did you take the brackets off the old rearend and what about the panhard bar?

Matt; I made new brackets from square tubing, drilled the holes for the U-bolts and capped the ends with flat bar. I also cut the half circle out of the tubing for the axle to fit into then welded it to the axle. The panhard bar I am going to make from scratch using 1" seamless pipe, schedule 80. I will make the brackets out of 1/4" steel. I am going to mount the one end on the trailing arm and the other new bracket on the oposite side frame rail.
