The chest type like that one still are about an inch higher than the side rails on my stepside. I think you could get a soft cover over it but it will show.

I saw one in a ford daulie once, he had a hard cover on it and a box inside. It was not the exact style pictured, but it was a diamond plate deal.

I got one in my 96 GMC stepside and it sits below the top of the bed, just barely. Got mine froma local truck place. Trying to remeber the brand. All I can remember is a blue fish emblem on the box. Mine is a 4' wide box. I like it alot for hauling my tools, but there are those rare instances when i could use the extra 2 feet of floor space.

Love Digital cameras. here is mine in my 96

It was made by
United Welding Services, Inc
606 Industrial park Dr.
Perry, Florida 32348 850-584-3448

Don't know if they have a web site. They are sold all over the place along the coast. I like how they fit in the bed.

I like the way they notched tis to slide up against the front of the box. Don't know how many others do it this way, but i haven't seen any other like this.

I've got one in my 2000 chevy daully, and it sits about 3 inchs below the top of the bed ,and I have 2 1/2 inchs on the sides,it came from tractor supply company and I think it was around 180 dollars, the ones at tractor supply are a dee zee brand, also if you get the one they call a fifth wheel utilitiy chest it is about 300 dollers,I would shop around,it took me a year before I bought mine,it was the cheapest I had ever seen, for the utility chest type tool box
