Ccsb 1-ton 4x4

hi my name is jason, i'm new here. i just bought a 1980 1ton 4x4 cab and chassis. after some closer inspecting i found some pretty thin spots on the frame. so i have decided to pull the drivetrain and use it for a different project. i also just picked up a crew cab on a rolling chassis. my hope is to build a crew cab short bed. i want to run 37" rubber with minimal lift. so here's the basic list

dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear, 52" front springs, 63" rear springs w/shackle flip, opened up fenderwells, 37-12.50-17 procomp extreme at's, looking at about 2"-3" of lift.

this could take a while as the weather is pretty bad up here in maine this time of year, but i hope to have it drivable by summer

Welcome! Do you have pics of these? I have a 83 K30 dually I'm "restoring", more like "reviving", using the frame from a 84 K30 CD30903 ambulance. Frame probably has more issues than yours. This Pennsylvania salt is a killer! Let us know how your adventure turns out. good Luck.

Where are y'all getting these crew cab frames on the cheap? I've been looking all over for one near me, but can't seem to touch a bare one for less than 500, much less, a roller.

Jason, are you moving the Dana/14 combo over to your new frame, or sticking with what it came with? Are you working outdoors? If so, I feel your pain... I'm doing the same thing at the moment. It sucks when you drop a socket in the snow...

Rear disc swap & Hydroboost
Dually conversion with shackle flip-n-switch
4x4 conversion with 52" springs
Maybe some new body panels
Who needs a car when they make crew cab trucks?

Re: Ccsb 1-ton 4x4

a buddy of mine has a 91 suburban with a fuel injected 350, 4l60, and a sweet interior. i'm going to buy it, and use the engine because it is injected, and i will probably use the transmission as well. the cool thing is that i will be able to have a/c. i can't wait to have this truck done.
