Re: seatbelts

Honestly, I would never buy used seatbelts. You have no idea if they have already been involved in a wreck and have been compromised.

Look for some nice new belts or reconditioned pieces out there.

Yes, they will cost more but saving money won't mean a thing if you end up flying through the windshield

So I take it you replace the seat belts in every used car you ever buy?

Re: seatbelts

I know this is going to start a war but i dont use the seatbelts for anything other than to get past inspection. Years back i was trapped in a car ( old chrsyler product from the early seventies) and back then i didnt know anything about cars as i was just a kid.. the radiator started smoking as the result of an accident and i couldnt get out of the seatbelt. i dont care what laws and statistics you show me I refuse to wear one. I know of several people who were killed wearing seatbelts including one who burned alive and several who escaped death as a result of NOT wearing a seatbelt also I just want a set that matches the new color of the interior. The center one may be used if i wind up taking the granddaughter in the truck for something as she has to have a baby seat.(therefore for now i would leave the red seatbelt and put the grey ones in on the sides)
My wife due to her cancer surgery cannot wear a seatbelt either as she has an illeal conduit that would be in the way of the seatbelt
I was just wanting to know if they would bolt in and work for inspection purposes, but I do appreciate everyone's input and thoughts and thank everyone for them

Re: seatbelts

she had her surgery last april 13 and so far is cancer free. they do say it has a high reoccurance rate but so far shes doing ok 5 years is the magic number if she makes that cancer free she should be ok. they did take out her bladder and gave her a conduit to urinate from so she has to wear a bag now . They also removed 10 lymphnodes and all her female parts , so she has to be careful and all and a belt could hurt her

Honestly, if you're going to go out of your way to buy seatbelts, spend a few extra dollars and get something new. Think about the reason you'd find used seatbelts for sale anyway, there is a VERY good chance they came out of a mangled vehicle that has been parted out.
