Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Not I......mine hasn't ventured more than a mile from the shop yet. Can't imagine what that must feel like.....bout killed me just to have the wheel fall off and half to redo the fender!
I'm itchin big time to get mine "street legal" since the weather has been perfect the last week or so......I'm sure it's just a tease and we will see more "winter" yet!

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Jim
on your 60-40 seat, you said that you took 1.5 inch out of the rear of the Frame, and 1.25 inch out of the Front of the frame to lower the seat.when I look at the Frame on the seat I was just not sure how you did it.I was going to just take 1.5 front and rear, but want to see how you did the Frame on your Seat.Do you Think you can take a few Pictures of the seat in the Truck and the side shot of the Frame. |

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Got it........I just used masking tape to tape the cut lines I wanted, used a cut-off wheel and took sections (see red line) right out of the middle part of the supports. if you do it right in the middle, all will line up except the rear (see red circle). I welded a little strap on the rear to strengthen.
I used different dims from front to rear cuz I wanted the seat to tilt back just a little more. 1.5 will work fine front and rear. the inner bracket (legs) for the pass seat is a little more tricky cuz it's doesn't sit flush to the floor. Quote:

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Awesome truck. Thinking of going with a similar color-intense blue pearlcoat. Don't hate but its a Dodge color.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
I may have to see your truck now, since you are local, and next week I am picking up a 72 GMC C1500 Sierra and selling my 75 Chevy C10 Silverado. Looks like I could learn some stuff and get some ideas just from looking at your truck. Very nice. Lots of inspiration from your truck.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Been awhile since I posted some pics.
Been enjoying the truck some and taking to local car shows and actually won first place at one of them........felt pretty cool! These gas prices aren't doing me any favors though! Here's a few pics with wheel wells back in.
