do you recognize this cool sectioned 456 ftom the wichita area?
A guy on the h.a.m.b. was looking for info on this truck from the wichita area.
His friend just bought it. It is real interesting how the character line was sectioned right out of it. I had never thought of doing one that way. real interesting... I wonder if it was ever finished? |

I think its pretty cool, at least someone is putting thier own spin on a classic instead of crushing it.

Re: do you recognize this cool sectioned 456 ftom the wichita area?
here is another shot..
at least it was saved from the crusher...although they did squish it a little bit! I just saw 50 60-6 trucks get crushed last month... a sad day. I saved a 60 cab and a few parts , but I didn't have the money or space to save them all. I would rather see this stuff get saved than get turned in to chinese luxury cars and bullets. |

it looks photoshopped from those pics, to me.
I can't say that I like it, at all. It just looks like its missing something...whatever it is that makes these trucks special. that one definitely doesn't have it IMO |

in the second shot, it kind of looks bent, like a subframe gone wrong.
almost looks fiberglass too, but I think it is steel |

I like the front end without a bumper and just a custom lip, but that's about it.

That is one ugly truck. So ugly it is almost cute...well at least in a one of a kind sorta way!
I think the the first post said it all, the character was sectioned out. |

Re: do you recognize this cool sectioned 456 ftom the wichita area?
The front end does look like a glass tilt f/e. As far as the look....I can't say I necessarily like it, but I do appreciate the time and effort that went into someone's personal interpretation. Our ideas are what personalize our vehicles to stand out and become one of a kind even if it was mass produced. I do only back to factory restorations at my shop for my customers, but love being creative on my own vehicles. Ultimately it is "to each his own" and we just have to keep in mind not everyone will like what we do. Jerry

Looks like they used the part of the hood as an air dam for the turn signals......cool, but not my style....

Re: do you recognize this cool sectioned 456 ftom the wichita area?
yeah lots of neat ideas on this, but probably not many I would do myself..
It sure has that late 70's look- wheels, rake, air dam, sunroof... here is another truck that used the hood for a roll pan. |

I think I would take down to the dirt track for some old fashioned stock car action.
