Nice find; Canadian Longhorn lovers!!
Met up with a guy near Calgary yesterday who's selling a bunch of stuff off his '71 pickup. Well it turned out to be a '71 Longhorn Camper Custom with rebuilt 14 bolt rear and near perfect metal on a lot of it. I didn't go for any of the metal 'cuz he's stripped the paint and I have no safe place to keep naked sheetmetal that I wouldn't wreck it so i thought I'd advise you guys about it. I decided to scoop the front brakes and power steering, though.
He offered me the whole frame for $200 and I almost went for it but I have no way of moving it and I can't really afford to find the Longhorn bits I'd need....too bad. It looks like it could be a helluva truck. i hope someone worthy find it. Greg

Trust me, I'm running through every financial possibility that I can to rescue it but there's no chance for me. He only wants $1000 (Canadian so around $600 US) for it. REALLY tempting but I haven't got the resources to paint it or finish right. Pretty much stuck with my 'ole beater for now I guess.
He had a nice '69 Chevelle that he'd already gone through too....very nice! Greg

I'm still ruminating over this one.....tempted now to scoop that frame and put my cab and such on it. Even though it'd look like hell for awhile, until I could afford a longhorn bed, it kinda makes some sense to get it in some ways. I could get it powdercoated and all that and then I could add parts to the frame as I'm ready, just swap them over from the C20.
grrr......I guess I don't really NEED it though, do I? still $200 for a complete frame!!! Maybe I should just go reant a whole lotta blue movies and take my mind off it! Greg
