Drip Rails
Does anybody know if the 55-59 cab had any Weather sealant in the body seem of the drip rails.

not sure if this helps but my 54 gmc didn't have any sealant their but it was sitting for a long time and it may have come out over time. mine looks like it was only spot welded.

Mine did. Don't know if it was original I'm guessing it was as all anybody ever did was add more paint . I put new in before painting.

Mine did on my '58. It apparantly got brittle with age and held water and that is why I had to put on a new roof and back panel. I am looking at using Maxim seam sealer before painting. Available from Eastwood.

any of the 55 - 59 tops I've cut off have all had a sealant in the rail.

Ok THANKS. I will apply some Seam Seal from 3M before painting.
