I think you sold it as well. Good thing you are a member here and can get another good one with the cash in your pockets.

Re: What do you think?

Reminds me of one of my best friend's uncles. He restores cars for a living and he had a '71 SWB fleetside that he had restored years earlier. He had it sitting outside his shop one day and someone walked up and asked whose it was and how much was it. Well he opened his mouth and said $8000, the guy said I'll be right back, came back a little later with the cash and my friend's uncle handed him the keys. He didn't think the guy was serious either. If you ask him he'll say it wasn't that great anyway but me and my friend know he misses that truck. If you hadn't taken the check you might have been able to get out of it but since you accepted it you might not be able to. I would try giving the guy his check back and tell him you didn't think he was serious or if you have any kids tell him that they got mad when they heard about it and that they wanted the truck. That's one reason whenever anyone ask how much I want for my truck I always say it's not for sale.

Re: What do you think?

Congratulations/condolences on selling your truck.

I've had the same question several times. I always say $100,000. I figure if they take me up on it I'll find a way to console myself.

That was quick. I thing I would first check to see if the check is good.

Re: What do you think?

I don't know how often you get to drive your truck; mine only comes out a handful of times every year. I'm always looking at what I could get for the money if I sold mine, always thinking of trading for something different. However, every time I get mine out, I remember why there is no way I could sell it. The money is nice, but the truck is nicer. I’d hand the check back and say you don’t intend to sell. $10,000 will buy another truck, but odds are it will never buy your truck back.

P.S. I’ve been offered money for mine before; I just say, “I wouldn’t even let you ride in it for that.”

Re: What do you think?

First never price something if you don't want to sale it. Even if just fooling around someone will take you up on it.
Now since you have the check I would make sure it cleared before handing him the key's.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What do you think?

I wanted to update everyone on the sale of my truck. I believe that a deal is a deal! However, the guy wanted the truck for his son, his son does not want an older truck. The guy calls me this morning, and explains his situation to me. We met a little while ago, he has his check.i have my truck back. From now on, i will make it very clear that it is not for sale!

Well Dave, I think you got lucky on that one. Looking at your truck, it looks like it is worth more than 10K. She's a beauty.

Re: What do you think?

Beautiful summer afternoon, I'm waxing Pair-A-Dice in the driveway, when truck pulls up.
Guy on passenger side (Wifey's Driving) says: "Hi, I'm looking for a truck to give to my 16 year old Son, you wanna sell it"?
I said: "16!!??" After being insulted by this, I thought about it for a split second and said: "Sure, I'll even give you a one time only special price, hows that sound"?
He says: "Okay"
"$30,000.00 Cash"

He goes: "WHAT!!??" "You're F'in crazy, ain't no body gonna give you that much". Wifey goes: "what's it made of, GOLD"?

I said (Smiling of course): "No, it's made of MY Blood, MY Sweat, MY Tears and MY MONEY!" "If you want it that bad, then that's what it's gonna take to get it".

They drove off, he was cusin out the window. I just stood there smiled and waved.

I get asked all the time if I want to sell it and I always give them the same answer: $30,000.00 Cash and it's yours. Can't imagine why no one has taken me up on it?

Re: What do you think?

I am still trying to get my truck finished, but my plan is to come up with a crazy high price way over what I have in it and would take for it if I sold it (which I don't plan to do). If someone will pay that high price for it, then maybe I will let it go. But I sure won't be telling people it for sale at even close to a "reasonable" price.

I actually got an offer to buy my first truck the day I got it. And I said nope, I am gonna finish this one.... 3 trucks and going on 6 years later I hope to finally finish up this year.

Re: What do you think?

This reminds me of the few offers I've gotten on my truck but with one drastic difference; they actually put a decent chunk of change up for yours. They usually offer $1500 for mine...

Glad you got your truck back.
