I think you are right about it being a GMC since it says GENERAL MOTORS TRUCK on the dash. Hmmm I wonder if the front grill was different then? Thanks again!

Yup the grill is different and I think the front fenders are too. There are two threads in this forum with pics.

The cabs are the same between the Chevy and GMC. Even the fenders are too for the most part. The grills, hood and radiator core support are all different between the two models. The entire front clip can be switched between the cabs without ffew issues. The frame itself has a different cross member at the front for each model. The GMC cross member has a stair step sort of mounting surface and the Chevy cross member has even mounting surfaces. Otherwise besides the cross member they are the same all the way back. Other little stuff like guages, dash lettering are different, as well as exterior name badges of course.
