Hydroboost question.
Can I run hydro boost on my truck if I am already running a hydro assist steering? Seems like it would max out the stock chevy pump??

Re: Hydroboost question.
if i think what your asking is " can i have power brakes and steering off the same power steering pump?" then the answer is yes. thats the way its made to work. if its a hydro boost pump, booster, and maybe even steering box.

Re: Hydroboost question.
I have a west texas off road hydro assist on my cross over steering. My box came from them also the pump is just a standard chevy unit I was just wondering if the chevy hydroboost would be too much since I am already running a ram on there.

Re: Hydroboost question.
I've heard that ps pump off of a diesel works the best. The valve is different, its made for low rpm witch is what most people using hydro steer need.

Re: Hydroboost question.
From the research I've done the saginaw pumps are all basically the same. The difference is in the preasure releif, and flow gpm. The diesels just use a larger diameter pully to offset the low rpm of the diesel.

Re: Hydroboost question.
one thing to think about is using a P/S cooler........pressure shouldn't be a problem but heat will be, plus you will probably also need a reservoir

Re: Hydroboost question.
I don't think there is a bolt in. I took one from an 87 and made the firewall bracket fit, then redrilled a hole in the brake pedal, this took a couple of tries to get the feel and stroke right. Will be doing another one soon out of an 89 p.u.
