picture needed - paint line on 67 chevy door

Paint will be coming soon and I need to know where the factory paint line is on the inside of the door when the interior paint is a different color than the outside.

Thanks in advance.

Re: picture needed - paint line on 67 chevy door

Good question. My truck was painted white with a blue interior from the factory but it's been so long I don't remember how the doors were done. I do remember the cab colors were seperated by the door seal.

davidh

Are the inside of the doors fawn? If they are I would appreciate a pic of the paint line from fawn to red on the door.

thanks

Re: picture needed - paint line on 67 chevy door

I looked @ a Silver exterior/red interior truck not too long ago. It was still factory on the inside & had been repainted on the outside. Basically it had everything you could see from the interior side painted in red (so the door panels & all areas of the door except for the exterior surface were red) and the exterior was silver (the door jambs included).

The 'paint-line' was where the trim plate was for the rockers & the cab floor & used the door rubber for separation.

Re: picture needed - paint line on 67 chevy door

Thanks SCOTI but I was actually wondering about the paint line on the door itself where the interior paint changes to the exterior paint. The hinges are another problem. Are the interior color or exterior color? Should I give up and paint the interior the same as the exterior?

Like stated.... outside of door one color; inside of door second color.

Exterior color.

Imagine sitting in the drivers seat of the truck w/the windows blacked-out. Any surface you can see is your interior color. The only area where the interior paint color continues is the door 'shell' that's not exposed to daylight. When I opened the door, the door 'jamb' was red, the cab 'jamb' was silver.

In the post above, does that describe how the colors on yours are broken-up?

I think it does. It's nothing I've really studied since I'm not planning on going back that way. IIRC, the paint line is basically where the sheet metal of the door skin rolls over on the the inside, which is what you said - everything you see from the inside is the interior color. One of my 67's came baby blue with a dark blue int, and the other is blue with a gold interior.

What is different about your's? I can't see all of the door. I think the body color does come around a little further on the door on mine than the pics above.
