Re: mcgaughys vs. chassis tech drop spindles
I can not speak about the Mcgaughy's but I had a friend that worked at a huge supplier of AIM's down here in Atlanta and he said there were tons of calls and returns on them....
I went with Early Classic because they fit perfect and I will say that my overall experience with those guys at ECE has been great with lots of help and advice when I needed it. And thats just my 2 cents..... man I think I am out of cents... ![]() Last edited by Number98; 02-22-2008 at 02:35 AM. |

Re: mcgaughys vs. chassis tech drop spindles
Only thing is, I know 100% for a fact that I've read other people on the forum say they've managed to run 15" wheels with drop spindles before. Maybe it was just special backspacing or something, I dunno.

Re: mcgaughys vs. chassis tech drop spindles
I bolted up my 15x8" rallies to the dropped spindles and they cleared before I tore it all apart to restore....

Re: mcgaughys vs. chassis tech drop spindles
I personally have ECE dropped spindles and coils on mine and have no issues with the 15x8 stock ralleys but have heard of some people having to fold over the lower control arm lips or even trim the lower lips because it would touch on tight turns. I have installed numerous ECE kits and McGaughys kits as well and either are a great choice. Listen to the advice here about Chassistech and AIM though, seems every forum has shared horror stories of customer service, and lack of quality control or quality at all.

Re: mcgaughys vs. chassis tech drop spindles
i have ece drop spindles on my 69 swb & 15 x 8 ralleys no problems looks great,i like them. did,t have to change any of tie rods, drag link, it fits 69 tie rod ends ,they machine them to fit the year of the truck, other company's you may have to change the outer tie rod ends, ccp has the ends if you use there spindles. i've brought parts from them to. have'n had no problem, i brought a steering box, quick ratio. love the way ece will answer your question, so many parts vendors are out there, if you choose one ask question, most them have tech help, have fun with your project.
