I don't want to get off the subject here.... .. but I bought a '65 Pontiac Catalina from an old gal by the name of Lewis. It was "always" known as the Lewis Cruiser, even after my daughter inherited it.

Back on topic, I used to call GMC's Jimmy's all the time. There used to be a guy at the Des Moines, IA dragstrip back in the early 60's that had a GMC powered '24 "T" roadster. The announcer always said "Here comes Lou and his Jimmy powered roadster". So, yeah it's an old guy thing....

Re: jimmy truck?

It is???Then, where did I ever hear it?Oh...from old guys I guess.I think it`s a pre-70 thing and we didn`t die or lose our minds that year.In`69 a Jimmy was any GMC.Then,in 1970,the whole world changed forever...er...uh,maybe not. They stopped making Jimmy SUVs,right?Woopee!!!GMCs are Jimmys again and if you have an SUV you have to let us know if it`s a 70-91 or an S10.

That outta raise a brow or two....It`s all good in my book.
