Steering Box Options?
Lets hear the pros & cons on the various type steering boxes & racks. I'm trying to deceide whick way to go with my steering. I still have original straight axle with disc conversion.It's a 56 short.

dude,if it were my truck i would use the 84'-90' toyota 4x4 box(the models with non independant front ends) the rack needs to be mounted on the axle,the alxe travels up and down so you would need steering coupler that slides similar to a large diesel truck. massive bumpsteer! in the last 20+ years messing with these trucks i have purchased 3 that had r&p conversions attempted and they sucked! pretty sure that one one of reasons they were sold off as unfinished projects/parts. they have kits to use 73'-87' chevy 2wd truck power boxes but from what i have found out they restrict the size of tire and wheel combo because they mount on outer side of frame causing tire to rub. looked at one and you could see rub marks and the tires and wheels he was running weren't very wide.
