Manual steering box weight
Would someone be willing to weigh their manual steering box if it is off of your truck? I'm trying to find out how much weight savings there is switching back to a manual from a power box.
I have a 63 but I don't think there is much weight difference if any between the 60's and 70's boxes. Thanks in advance.. |

Re: Manual steering box weight
If nobody responds by Friday, I'll be back home and can grab my spare and weigh it for you. I think the weight/power savings comes from the pump's weight and parasitic drag on the engine. Anyways, Friday I'll try and remember to weigh mine.

Re: Manual steering box weight
The manual steering box is fisically smalled. Guessing difference holding them both in my hand I would say 20lbs between them not including the pump and fluid. But I'd like to know for sure.
