gas filler grommet arg!!!!
I replaced the grommet on my gas tank filler about 6 months ago from an outside vendor, and the thing already looks worse than the old one. I mean it looks like someone put a knife to it. Where do you all get yours, and how long should they last?

I believe that the dealer still has the grommets for our trucks. The last one that I bought from the Chevy dealer is still good after 2 years. The repops that I had lasted 6 months.

I'm not sure where I got my last one, I think it was LMC. Still looks good after several years. I've bought two or three over the years and the first thing that I do is use Armorall on them. I wipe it with Armorall every time I clean the plastic/rubber parts on my trucks. At least one or twice a year.
The thing that does gripe me thought is that they all will leave a smudgy, black substance when you wipe them.. Would be nice if they used something other than vulcanized rubber... |
