Fuel fouling 305
i have an 86 pickup with a 305 4-barrel carb that has the electronic carb on it. i have a problem with the plugs fuel fouling when the engine is cold. when the engine is warm it fires right off(better than my moms brand new van). it is not carbon on the plugs and it has great accelleration after it starts. i can lean the carb all the way down so it barley runs and it still will foul the plugs. when it fouls them i will take them out and spray them with ether and light them to burn off residue then sandblast them. put them in and it fires right off. i dont know if it has something to do with the plugs or the ignition module not igniteing it at the right time. when i first try to start you can hear mabey 1 to 3 cylinders fireing but then after about 5 to 10 seconds they quit. sorry it is kinda long but i just want to get it fixed so i can drive it without worry.
later
