project left overs

well i sold my 1972 2wd blazer and i started selling the parts from it. i have now decided to build one of my other 1972 2wd trucks i have. i guess ill use this thread for motivation. this truck will only be a daily driver so it isnt getting anything special. i currently have lowered the truck with a 4/6 ece drop and painted the frame black ( i had my kids degrease it and spray it with rattle can they had a great time 9 and 11) so it it doesnt lookas as nice as my powder coated swb 4x4 frame but it will have to do. i have a 72 a/c cab and a nice 68 front clip i picked up off of the board. i have relocated the fuel tank to the rear and bent up new lines for the fuel lines to feed the tpi 350. it also has a 700r4 o.d. and new inline tube brake lines. here is a pic of the cab floor for now. being a northern man i have NEVER seen this part of the floor. the rockers had a real small pin hole in each of them so i decided to replace them and so did the a pillar bottom on the rh side. i decided i would just replace both lh and rh kick panels and a piller bottoms for the heck of it. after all of my trucks i always thought the kick panel was spot welded to the floor. (they have always been rusted away) but after tearing into this truck i realized it is just bolted together lol....... here is a pic of the floor ill get more later. i am also installing a old air products a/c kit i had sittin around.

Re: project left overs

thanks, im kind of at a stand still trying to decide if i want to replace the entire inner rocker or not. and i cant decide if i should just put some epoxy based paint on the cab floor and underneath. or use por15 or have it sprayed with bedliner.

Re: project left overs

Nothing like throwing together a bunch of old parts to get a daily driver. Oh and a few thousand dollars for the rest of the parts. Looks like you have a good start.

Re: project left overs

all i should have in this truck is paint, seat upholstery, and patch panels. i have most everything else from years of foolin with these trucks. I also have some left overs from my 2wd blazer i sold. thats where the 4/6 drop and the old air ac kit came from. the new owner didnt want it. plus the tilt, tach, and cruise.

Re: project left overs

sometimes i like these kind of builds better than the mega buck trucks. it has to do with the "something from nothing" attitude that i like, plus the ability for one more to be on the road that probably wouldn't have
