CAT Back Exhaust ?
What kind of cat back exhaust systems are yall runin? I have a 06 GMC CC that I want to give some sound to. What brands are yall runin Flowmaster,Gibson,Magnaflow, etc.? Which one sounds the best on the 5.3's? I know I love the flows on my 68 but which system will sound good without making the cab too loud?

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ?
I would recommend the magnaflow 3" cat back. Works awsome and sounds nice. Nice deep throaty tone at idle and cruise but will still give you a bark at WOT

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ?
I got the Doug Thorley cat back for my '02 and it is freakin awesome!!!!!!!
+ jaime gives a great price on these for board members. It took me 28 minutes to install on my silverado extended cab, it sounds great, is 3-inch, stainless and mandrel bent. It sounds really good. It doesn't have that raspy resonance. it is by far the best exhaust i have ever owned.

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ?
I have the new style 07' and I had planned on getting a nice expensive cat back system but I didn't have the coin so just for the heck of it I went to the exhaust shop had them put on a glass pack that fit where the muffler was(I believe a 24" one) It took 35 minutes cost $105 with tax and I haven't heard another truck like mine w/ aftermarket exaust that sounded any better. So I'm gonna leave it. Oh and its be 8000 miles so far and still sounds like the day I got it so I figure if it lasts a couple years I could have it redone five or six times for the price of some of the aftermarket ones.

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ?
I've got the stainless steel 3" in. dual 2 1/2" out from Magnaflow. I'm happy with it. Pipes go straight out the back. It's tight around the spare tire, but everything fits. Low rumble at idle and louder at WOT. Took about 1 hour to install lying on my back in the driveway.

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ?
I have an 05 CC with the 5.3. I installed the corsa touring cat back system. It is a little quieter than I would like, but it did improve the sound and slightly improved the performance and mileage.
