just because its wrecked, dosen't mean it is worthless

while sectioning my "good" door I discovered a 4 inch deep mouse/critter nest in the bottom.
I had the piece blasted, but it was so full of pinholes that the blaster didn't even waste time on some parts of it.
At the same time I discovered that my other good passenger door had rust, bondo, and shoddy dent repair.
so I went to the local wrecking yard in search of some new doors.
$50 got me a decent passenger door( i like finding parts with original paint on them, that way you know there is no hidden bodywork) the guy threw in the wrecked and rolled driver door for free... the bonus, a good rust free door bottom.

I resorted to checking out even 2 ton trucks for the doors. Hard to find them rust free here in KY.

same here on the coast of washington. i pulled a set of doors off a 60-63 gmc suburban and the bottoms were so rusted out that i couldn't even use'em. wasted $100 on both doors
