Have pics of 67 C-10 with a load, how can I level it?

I have pics of a 67 with a trailer and Jeep and it can only sit in the feild with this setup, stock setup...lol. I have the stock bumper and thats the first to go, I can buy a good drop hitch so no real probs there but the rest is a problem. I need it level and then a stock cam and a different intake, I have the victor jr. intake and a 3000 stall. What does everyone use to help level this thing? I'm guessing a drop hitch though, well mines weak. I like the way its lowered in the back...lol...I want it that low, only level with no load. I need help, I know this truck can do it, but it needs a little help.

are you asking how to lower your truck to that loaded level?
or are you asking how to lower the front to match the rear?
or are you asking how to raise the rear to the level of the front?
I'm totally lost... and I hope it isn't just me.

also, depending on what gearing you have and engine, you might be over your load limit, but i dont know

if you cant find any you may be able to go to a suspension shop (or do it yourselff) and but some $50 bags and build your own brackets for cheap, just a thought

I know there are people out there that have replaced there coils in back for a set of bags, direct replacement, but I dont know what bag their using. Thanks for the ideas, Maybe I can figure something out. If I can find a good strong airbag I can haul a trailer and it will double as a airbag setup, I can always do the front later on.

I should be good on the engine pulling it, Its about 425hp now but I'll be doing a cam, stall, and intake swap to get a better engine for pulling, I need that low end tourqe.

How about the pic of my stock bumper, it looks sturdy but look at the back bolt hole, not much and it will give way and break. They should have drilled and bolted it lower down, I could always drill out and put another bolt in it.

i havent installed mine but im using FBI( www.fbirides.com ) front and rear bag brackets instead of coils (not installed yet) and airbagit ( www.airbagit.com ) #2600 bags ($49.99)

you can always keep your factory bumper and do a hitch behind the plate, if you do the air assist setup you wont need a drop hitch

Thanks for the websites and help. I'm going to try to do a coil to bag swap, I'm kinda fond of Slam bags, heard alot of good things and they are strong bags, if I pull I need a strong bag that will holdup. I'll get into a 2600 bag for sure.

regardless of the engine and gearing, it is overloaded. Those numbers INCLUDE the 4000 or so pounds of the truck its self.

If the jeep is too far up on the trailer it will make the load really heavy. Find the fine line of what vehicle you will have on the trailer. Load the jeep or whatever on the trailer and watch the rear of the tow truck go down. Like someone said only about 500 lbs on the tongue.

My 16ft trailer weighs 2500 lbs with a very heavy tongue. I pull with a 86 1/2 ton with 5 leafs in it. My truck will do the job but wow is it a harsh ride. Even with the vehicle on the trailer loaded correctly with hardly any tongue weight.

I run Slam Specialties RE-7's on my truck all the way around, they should be just fine for hauling your jeep
But like sad above it's loaded to far forward & is putting more weight on your truck than needed

LOL, its not what I'm going to tow and its not really to far forward...lol...any further back and it will be off the trailer, well about 2 foot but its 3 or 4 foot from the front. If I put it back anymore it may fishtale going down the highway. The dakota cc I'm going to be pulling is around 4500lbs, maybe 5000. The Jeep is just to see how it stands up to weight and it doesn't very well. I will look into the RE-7's Slams, thats what I wanted but unsure of what size bag, so thanks.


Now that I look at my pic, from the view of the pic I took it does look a little far forward, but I asure you, its not. I can take a better pic but the dakota will even set it down more, but the trannys out so the JK let me know about how it will set down. Oh, my uncle has a 3/4 ton GMC and it held up good to a load, I could swap some parts but if some RE-7 Slam bags would be ok I'll do that, it would be easier.

LOL, I love old trucks and Jeeps and about everything else. I have the old 67 Chevy, 2007 Wrangler JK, 2006 Civic SI, 2001 Dakota CC with 700 horseys, Yamaha 660 Grizzly, and a Honda 929rr. Good choice on Jeep and 68.

ive bought stuff from them before with no troubles and they did good work
