Power steering
I am about to build a new frame for my 65 Burban and I was wondering if anyone else has a bagged truck with manual steering. The Sub has the stock manual box and I think it would be easier to keep it. Also can I just swap the manual box for a power steering unit without changing the whole steering up.

Re: Power steering
i cannot attest to pre-67 vehicles, but on the 67-72 trucks, the gearbox is mounted on teh driver side of framerail (between core support and control arm), and it's as simple as swapping out the gearbox and changing the pitman arm to a diff't style (power and manula pitman arm are diff't).
i realize '65 may not be the same, but ... doubt it's much diff't from 60-66.

Re: Power steering
I have manual steering on my GMC and it's perfectly fine to drive with. I believe on these trucks the boxes swap (bolt hole wise), so you could always add it later.

Re: Power steering
I know that the power box has a part up against the frame that has sets in an indention on the frame so you have to buy the conversion kit from CPP if it were a stock frame. But since Im building my own frame I could put the little indention in when building it but then I would have to buy a power box. Thanks for the help.
