Step side questions

Okay, as some of you may know I went and looked at a step side bed. It is currently sitting on a 1962? 3/4ton truck. The owner insist that it is a 73 to 87 and sitting on the wrong year. Are these would these two be the same aside from the fenders and tail gate? From what i saw of the gate (in the back of a shed) it looked to be 73 to 87 gate. This is a 8 foot bed not the 6 footer. The bed has some rough areas where the wood meets the side but overall it is not bad. The old owner filled the stake pockets which i thought looked cool. The truck was once a 1970's world of wheels truck and has some really crazy paint. Sorry know pictures but if this can work I will be posting some

Thanks for all the help

Also does any one have a picture of a long step side bed??

Re: Step side questions

to the best of my knowledge the bed itself is the same from the fifties through like 1988 when they came out with the newer style the fenders differ but will bolt up to any bed

Re: Step side questions

I agree with old Rusty. The fenders are different, and I think the actual steps are different. The tailgate's the same from like the 50s through 87, and the bed itself is the same. I think I got all that info from the mar-k site, if you wanna doublecheck me.

As far as pics, the one I've seen the most on here is los-lowrider, who has a ton of pics. There was another guy a year or so ago from Jordan who had a long step. I think his name was Shamir.

Re: Step side questions

Thanks rusty and rabbit.
I had heard this but just wanted to double check. On the brothers site all of them look the same as well.
As for pictures I looked at los-lowriders allot. He has some good ones. I was surprised to not find any more on google.

Thanks again
