1BBl rochester

anyone know where the best place to get a 1bbl rochester for my 62 c10?
I saw these at autozone a few months ago for $100 but now it lists as out of stock or something.I know LMC offers them but I was woindering if a local type Place(autozone, advanceauto, etc) carries these.I hate mail order parts.

Re: 1BBl rochester

Hey Bama,
I bought mine from Langdon's Stovebolt. It's a much later model with electric choke. I love it! You can get the same thing from Advance, or Auto Zone. Ask for one for a mid to late 70s C-10 with an inline 6cyl. My truck is a daily driver, and that carb has worked great in weather as cold -2' this winter.
Good luck,
Tim

Well, he had the one he sold me. I had called to talk to him about a 2bbl adapter plate, and one of the 2bbl carbs in his catalog. He said I have a NOS 1bbl that would work great on my truck. I bought it, and he was right.

Thanks,

I'll have to check to see if he has more. I have a two barrel from him, but would like to keep the truck original, and it came with the 1bbl. Rochester.

Re: 1BBl rochester

Hey Guys,
Here are some pics of my set-up. Kind of dirty, it's been out in the snow all winter. It's a great little carb, but it's not orignally what would have come on it. I don't like the air cleaner, but it's all I could find.

Re: 1BBl rochester

If they have one, www.thecarburetorshop.com is one of the best places to buy a rebuilt carb. Jon no longer rebuilds customer's carbs, he got tired of working all day and night. He now only rebuilds what he has in stock. He also sells NOS. Off and on he was giving advice at www.stovebolt.com under the name carbking. I bought a rebuild kit for a huge old Zenith in a switch engine. Real good to deal with, flat knows his stuff. But his work doesn't come cheap.

Re: 1BBl rochester

Good looking engine, Tim. Keep em inline....

I wonder what year that carb is off. My 77's Rochester didn't have any vacuum break and the choke was worked off the exhaust heat (bimetallic spring).
