How to Slam a 55-59 truck

My buddy just bought a 56 chevy truck from his g-pa and he was asking me the best way to slam one on the ground. He has been looking at the mustang II front ends with airbags and I was wonder if that would be the best way to get the front on the ground. The back is no problem he will just 4-link it, but what would be the best rear end to use? He has a rearend out of a 86' chevy and I was wondering if that would be good. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

Re: How to Slam a 55-59 truck

You could either do a camaro /firebird front clip or a MII with dropped spindles and airbags. Either choice will work good plus the 55 - 59 cabs have basically a factory body drop over the frame that makes it easier to lay these trucks on the ground.

Re: How to Slam a 55-59 truck

I put a 99 s10 4x4 rear end into my truck. With the disc brakes if you lower it too much the disc calipers will hit the box when aired out as well I have the 7 x 15 rally wheels and ended up using a 2" spacer. I'm going to tub mine with small 5" tubs.
