Question swapping dana60 (3/4 ton) for 12 bolt (1/2 ton) question...

In converting the burb to 1/2 ton... will the U joint be the same? I have the drive shaft out of the 1/2 ton burb too... but it is burried deeeeep in my storage unit, and I'm just trying to get everything lined up at the moment.

longhorn man do you have a dana 60? most 3/4 tons have a dana 44 same basic unit as the 1/2 ton version with different axles and rotors and bearing houses. if it is a 44 then all will be the same including the front driveshaft. If someone put a 60 in it then I don't have the answers for you

The 3/4 ton universal joint is larger. You should be able to purchase a hi-bred universal though. However the nose of the 3/4 ton is longer than the 1/2 ton also. So you need to change drivelines anyway. Oh ya, the panhard bar is different also Andy. WES

I'm glad I grabbed that other driveshaft as an after thought!
How is the panhard bar different? I have the one from the 1/2 ton, on the truck as we speak.
