Bench seat in a Blazer

I have a '70 2WD Blazer and it has a bench seat in it. I was talking with another board today and he and I can neither recall ever seeing a Blazer with a bench seat. Where they an option? I don't know if mine is factory or not. It is sitting a buddys place, so I can just run out in the yard and check. I am going to check for the bucket seat holes next time I and check the SPID next time I'm down where it is.

BTW, it did not come with a rear seat and it came with a SM465 4 speed if it matters.

Yes, you could get a bench seat in them. Check the back side of the seat to see if it is upholstered...

I disagree, no bench seat was ever offered in a Blazer/Jimmy. That picture is of a pre-production prototype - they were never sold that way. It was swapped at some time.

I agree with Blazer1970. I've never heard of it as an option. It could have been a dealer swap. If it is factory, it should say on the glove box.

The pics from the ad are a pre-production truck as stated.

Re: Bench seat in a Blazer

I have a 60/40 split bench from a 98 Silverado extended cab in mine. It works great as far as getting in the back and I like the comfort and the ride height.

I'm not sure I agree either way, but I remember seeing a option brochure with a picture of the different interior options you could get in a blazer. IIRC it showed front buckets and rear bench. Pair of front buckets, Bench seat, and single bucket. I think it had to do with if you had a top or not. But that could all be pre production stuff that never made it, but was in the literature....or I made it up....

I'll check my picture archive.....

Re: Bench seat in a Blazer

On coloradoK5.com there is a link that says specifications, and then you can click to view dealer advertisements. You can then click to see each page of the advertisement. Long story short, it doesn’t show any bench seat; but for the jimmy it lists buckets as an option. I don’t know exactly what this means, but it doesn’t show any bench seat.
