ingnition coil and distributor wiring
Can some one please post pictures of the wiring that is supposed to hook up to the coil and distributor from the truck wiring harness. I unhooked the msd from my truck and trying to find out what goes where. There was a big pinkish red wire that was hooked up to the MSD. I thought there was supposed to be a white wire in the bundle.

is the big pink wire I cut from the msd box the one that plugs into the distributor for power?

Re: ingintion coil and distributor wiring
On the distributor itself there are only 2 hookups (other than from the distributor itself) one is Batt and the other is Tach. If you don't have a tach, it would probably hook to the Batt terminal. I'm not really sure about through an external (MSD) box.
If you're trying to eliminate the box, you just need to hook a wire to the batt terminal that is powered through the ignition (on when key is in run) .

Re: ingintion coil and distributor wiring
That is what I was wondering. There is one huge pink wire that attached to the mds box for 12 volts and I wanted to make sure that was the one I was supposed to hook up to the hei. I removed all of the MSD goodies to go on a buddies project. I plan on keeping my truck so I am going through and un rigging everything the PO had installed to include the fried fuse box.
