what bbc headers are you using?

I purchased the performanceonline.com frame mounts for my '67 and was wondering what headers you guys were using for your big blocks? I also am curious as to runner size I beleive i'll be in the 540 flywheel hp range.

Re: what bbc headers are you using?

I have Thorley Tri Y's but am concerned about clearance issues with a 2"/4" drop plus once I get the engine re-installed I don't want the headers/exhaust hanging below the frame. I am about to pull the trigger on Sanderson's Block-Huggers. BB4 I believe is the part number. Just am not sure if I will buy direct or through a Vendor.

Re: what bbc headers are you using?

I have headers by Lemons Headers in Paso Robles Ca. I had them made so the collectors are level with the bottom of the frame... for ground clearance. 2 1/8" primaries on a blown 454.
Do a Google and youll find their website. I dont know how to post a link.

Re: what bbc headers are you using?

hooker super comps!!! very close fit and hang down a little lowe then id like, but ohh well has a 2 inch primary into a 3.5 collector that i needed to pass the gas of my bbc. mines also pushing 650hp and i have 3 inch drop springs in the front and 5 inch in the rear.... speed bumps might now be a big problem!!!

Re: what bbc headers are you using?

Chevelle Hooker comps. I had to modify the trans xmember because the Chevelle headers sit up higher in the frame.

I also run Hooker Comps for trucks on my 67. Clearance is good, performance is good, sound is good, all is good except the gas milage.....
