Clarification

Ok, I know that the deluxe trim windshield gaskets for 69-70 and 71-72 are different due to groove depth, but is the trim that goes in them the same? If so, can I use a 71-72 gasket on my 70? Just wondering what the difference was and if they are interchangeable.

Re: Clarification

The windshield molding/rubber groove is deeper for the pre 71 stainless trim . The groove is for the trim not the truck or windshield. If you have 71-72 stainless trim and rubber for 71-72 you can mount it in pre 71 truck. The rubber molding corresponds to the trim used.

Re: Clarification

I had a new aftermarket rubber for mine and used the 71-72 trim. The rubber would have worked for either set of trim, but it would not even fit around the windshield right. I had Safelite auto glass come out and they brought their own gasket and it worked fine. Solver is 100% correct in what he said, just make sure you get a good gasket, dont mess with a cheapie like I did.
