A friend told me on some of these trucks there was a spacer installed between the fan and water pump pulley. Ever heard of this part?

Better yet does anyone have one or a picture of one? I need such a spacer for fan clearance and I was hoping some one could come to my rescue!

I hate to step on a sale but they have those at every auto parts store or for a buck or so at junkyards..

You may be right. It would cost 3-4 dollars to send it to him. It would be cheaper to find one localy.

I checked with NAPA. A 2" spacer is $30. I need at least 1.5 to 2" spacing, how long is the one you have?

there are two different thickness spacers if i remember right. It depends on your engine/accesory combo. One is about an inch and a half or two and the other is like 3-4 inches i dont recall exactly.

A 2 inch spacer for $30 ? You cant walk through the junkyard without tripping over them and I know the local parts store has them for $8 because I just bought one.

If you have a thermostatic fan (heavier than normal) don't use a long spacer or you'll prematurely wear the seals out of the water pump!!

I put a spacer on my clutch fan.
At 2500-3000 rpm I developed a WICKED vibration.
I took out the spacer and fixed my clearance problem the right way(like I should have in the beginning).
