Leaking Brake Lines
I just put new brake lines on a truck but there leaking where I used connectors to connect the lines along the frame rail. I took them apart and couldnt find any defects or dirt or any thing so Im thinking I should just wrap them in teflon tape then put them back together. Yes the the connections were tight. Would this work or does someone have any better ideas?

i never use the teflon tape.. is it possible you didnt have them tight enough? maybe different manufacturers differnt threads??

First, tell me you used flared couplings as opposed to compression-style. If flared, did you buy pre-made lines or did you flare them yourself? My first thought is that the lines may not be double-flared.

They are flared couplings and they were pre made and double flared. And they were plenty tight

Hmmm... I never had one leak before. All I can think of is to try couplings from a different supplier... maybe a slight manufacturing defect unseen to the naked eye is involved. In any case, I wouldn't trust the sealing qualities of teflon under this kind of pressure. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a fitting that can't seal on it's own... at least on the braking system
