Re: Field Find

I have a spare set of rims tires, But the dam things are 5-lug. Anyone got some smoothies they want to trade? Rims are shown here on my camaro. I put the RS wheels back on the Camaro. Sorry about the photo size. I need to get that figured out.

I should have posted this a couple of months ago . I might have taken you up on that. I like the 89 stepside. I as I stated before I have had the truck a few months and I have already started it. Beds off and I started one of the doors. Drivers door did not look bad but it got worse once I started cutting.

The hood is shot. The whole front lip just fell apart in my hand when I opened it. Just about everything from the molding down is gone.

You mean like this.

Yuu ever been to this place? The place is amazing. Its like a Walmart for trucks. Almost everything on their wed site is on display and you even pick out your pannels from their stock.
http://www.toolshedofamerica.com/Bod...k-up_67-72.htm

I got the outter pannel for $19.99 and the inner pannel for $29.99.

Re: Field Find

[QUOTE=Gorn;2586602]I can not bring myself to drive a truck that needs work.

If I waited till my cars and trucks were "Done" I would only ever get to drive my VOLVO. Great score.

OH yeah? That place is pretty good??? Only about 10 minutes from my house... I've only ever been in there for a few non-sheet metal things though.

Re: Field Find

A couple years ago an uncle of mine bought a '70 Chevy LWB Fleetside from some old guy who I think was the original owner. It had the factory A/C, the factory radio with the needle dial and GM on the face plate, factory seat cover, factory 350, original trans, and the original 2 tone olive green color with white top. The body looks to be pretty straight with some minor rust spots. The guy sold him the truck for only $600 too. The only thing my uncle did to it was put some flowmasters on it and some old truck wheels and baby moons he's had for years. A few months ago he was talking about selling it though. It was really tempting but I just can't afford another project right now.

Re: Field Find

I am not sure if there are better pannels out there. The outter partial skin fit fine. The inner lower door will need a lot of tweeking. It does not have near the definition it should have.

Re: Field Find

You suck!!! My neighbor 2 doors down has SEVERAL 69-72's and a BUNCH of parts. He wants $1,000.00 just for a frame and disassembled body (with no title). I thought he would want to just get rid of the stuff but he definately knows what he's got and is charging accordingly. He wants 5 grand for the whole lot.

Re: Field Find

hey i know that truck!! that's the first thing i thought of when i saw your post, lol. i looked at it a couple years ago and he wasn't ready to sell, then i stopped back and he said he'll get at least $1500 no problem, i already had enough trucks for that price. it is an unmolested truck though, good score. let me know if you need anything i have about a dozen of these trucks and mountains of parts from taking them apart for years. im only about 20 miles north of you. Dev.

Re: Field Find

The first step to any running project is to drive it and see what it feels like. Then you learn the personality of the truck first hand. Good thing is that you can always change it, but if you can drive it you owe it to yourself to do so BEFORE making any big changes.
