Shock Question

My 86 SWb is my DD and I'm in the process of puttin a diamond plate flatbed on it. I was lookin on Advance Auto Parts Website and the have a set of heavy duty shock on there they are air shocks used for towing and hauling.I was wandering if anyone ever used these shocks on their truck?

Re: Shock Question

i have had air shocks in the past and wasnt too thrilled with them.. back in the eighties it was the thing to have them in the back of your car with a rediculous rake on it.. I had several large cars in the era and installed them and found the ride and poor traction in rain.. I would think a heavy duty gas shock would be better as well as beefed up springs if you are worried about hauling weight.. id also conside truck type air bags for lift
Advanced does have good deals if you order over $50 you get free shipping im real pleased with the stuff on there so far

Re: Shock Question

Monroe Gas Magnums all the way, baby. I've had comments that my truck doesn't ride like a truck, more like a large car.
