Mini starter ?

Hi I have a 71 C-10 I am installing ram horn headers and the starter is in the way. I have been looking for a mini starter but all the ones that i've found bolt up to the block, mine was bolted to the tranny.(will it still fit?) I have a GM 350 crate engine and it does have the holes for the starter. Most of the mini starters that I have looked at say that they are for a 168 tooth flywheel. (How do I find out what kind of flywheel that I have?)
My truck originaly had a 307 and it still has a 3 on the tree tranny.
Let me know if you guys can give me a hand.

Re: Mini starter ?

heyi actually have that same bellhouseing on mine with my M-21 i found a mini gear reduction starter at my local napa that has no nose on the end (most starters have noses that are to big for the bellhousing if they bolt to the block) it fits prefectly in under the headers with lots of room i'll see if i can find a photo of it its got a billet aluminum mounting plate

Re: Mini starter ?

to find the number of teeth start at 1 and count one more for each tooth
those are block hugger headers not ramshorn headers speedway motors sells pipes to hookthem up and clear a starter
mini starter will fit crate motors
